Jalandhar bypoll results: AAP candidate Sushil Rinku leading by 2680 votes in second round, Congress on second number

The counting of votes for the Jalandhar bypoll has begun. The counting of votes is being done at the counting center located in the premises of Director Land Records and Sports College, Kapurthala Road. The beginning has been started with the counting of ballot paper, in which in the second round also AAP candidate Sushil Rinku is leading by 2680 votes.

Earlier, after voting, all EVMs and VVPAT machines were kept in the strong room where three-wheeler security arrangements were made around them. Paramilitary personnel have been deployed along with the Punjab Police to ensure that there is no disturbance during the counting of votes.

There is a four-cornered contest on the Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat. In this, Sushil Rinku from Aam Aadmi Party, Karamjit Kaur Chaudhary from Congress, Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal from BJP and Dr. from Akali and BSP alliance. Sukhwinder Sukhi is included. Sushil Rinku has been an MLA from Congress, AAP had given him a ticket by bringing him into the party.

Congress’s Karamjit Kaur Chowdhary is the wife of Santokh Singh Chowdhary, who was elected MP from this seat twice. Inder Iqbal Atwali has been an MLA from Akali Dal, he was given ticket by BJP after joining the party. Akali candidate Sukhwinder Sukhi is Akali MLA from Banga. A total of 19 candidates have contested on this seat.
