The results of the Jalandhar Lok Sabha bypoll will be declared today. The fate of 19 candidates will be decided today. The counting of EVM votes will start at 8 am. Each assembly constituency will have 14 tables and 20 counting parties (including reserves) have been deployed at each center for counting.
Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Jaspreet Singh reviewed the preparations and arrangements at the counting centers set up at Director Land Records Office, Government Patwar School, Government Arts and Sports College, Kapurthala Road.
The Deputy Commissioner said that a polling team consists of an observer, an assistant and a micro observer. Apart from this, along with ensuring necessary arrangements for counting of postal ballots sent through electronic means, training has also been imparted to the counting personnel. He said that after the completion of the counting of one round, the counting of votes for the next round would begin.
