Siliguri : The Siliguri Metropolitan Police has taken a unique initiative to provide respite from the heat to the traffic police personnel standing on the roads amidst the scorching heat and scorching heat. Sunscreen, sunglasses, glucose, umbrella and refrigerator have been arranged so that the traffic policemen can get relief from the heat. On Saturday, Siliguri Police Commissioner Akhilesh Kumar Chaturvedi handed over the material to the traffic police personnel with his own hands. During this, many police officers including DCP Traffic were present.

On this occasion, Commissioner Akhilesh Kumar Chaturvedi said that “Save Drive Safe Life” campaign is being run continuously. Under this, a program has been organized for public and police personnel. At the same time, he said that sunscreens, sunglasses, glucose, umbrellas and refrigerators have been handed over to the city’s traffic system to remain smooth and workers healthy in summer. He said that along with the traffic policemen, refrigerators have been given to the common people so that there is no problem of dehydration. Along with this, he said that all the police personnel of the city have been instructed to drink enough water during the day.
