UP civic vote count: Congress in municipality, BJP leading in nagar panchayats

Rae Bareli : Congress candidate Shatrughan Sonkar has taken a lead in the city’s municipality seat in the initial trends of ballot papers for local body elections counting. While BJP is leading in most of the seats in Nagar Panchayats. Congress’s Shatrughan Sonkar has got 288 votes, SP’s Parasnath 35 and BJP’s 17 votes from Rae Bareilly.

BJP has got an edge in Nagar Panchayat Bachhrawan and Shivgarh of the district. The SP candidate has got a slight lead in Maharajganj. In Nagar Panchayat Lalganj, there is a close fight between Congress candidate and BJP. While BJP is leading in Nagar Panchayat Dalmau, Unchahar. Independents in Nagar Panchayat Salon, SP in Parshadepur and BJP candidate in Nasirabad have got slight lead.
