Heavy rains caused flooding in Italy on Tuesday. According to media reports, 9 people have died so far due to the flood. The Formula One event in Italy’s Imola has been canceled due to heavy rain and flooding. Italy usually receives 1000 mm of rain in a year. There, 500 mm of rain has fallen in 36 hours.

Officials said the Emilia-Romagna region was hardest hit by the floods. Landslides have also occurred in some areas here. Rescue operation is being run to save people. Roads in the three cities of Feza, Cesena and Forli were completely submerged in water. Many houses have been damaged. Thousands of people have become homeless. Along with this, some people are also trapped in their homes.

The Formula One (F1) car racing championship in the Emilia-Romagna region has been canceled following heavy rain. A Formula One official said – the track is flooded due to the flood. The race has been canceled for the time being due to security reasons. The management said that we cannot take any risk.

 

Civil Defense Minister Nelo Musumesi said – Half of the rain that falls in a year has happened in the last 36 hours. A Coast Guard official said that 5,000 people have been rescued so far. 15 rivers flow through the Emilia-Romagna region. Some people said that the roads leading to the hospital, airport were completely submerged in water. Many villages have lost contact with the cities.
