9 Karnataka ministers facing criminal case, all millionaires

The Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) in its report said that nine ministers who took oath after the Karnataka assembly elections are facing criminal cases and all are millionaires. The report also said that of the nine ministers whose cases were reviewed, four (44 per cent) were facing serious criminal cases. This report has been issued on the basis of review of affidavits given at the time of election of 9 out of 10 ministers including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The report states that J. George’s case could not be reviewed. His clear and complete affidavit was not available on the Election Commission website when the report was being prepared, so it could not be reviewed in George’s case. The report also describes the financial debt obligations of ministers. 265 to Kanakpura MLA and Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar in the affidavit. 06 crores is a financial liability i.e. debt. According to the educational qualification declared in the affidavit, the three ministers have declared 8 to 12 passes. The remaining six ministers have bachelor’s or higher degrees.
