Sao Paulo:  Information about a major lapse has come to light regarding the 62 passengers who died in a plane crash in Brazil last month. The report has revealed that the pilot of the plane that crashed in Brazil had reported a fault in the system that removes snow from the wings. But it was not paid attention to. This lapse proved fatal for the passengers. This information has been given in a preliminary investigation report released on Friday. Let us tell you that on 9th August, a plane going from Cascavel in the Parana province to Guarulhos in Sao Paulo crashed in Vinhedo, killing all 62 people on board.

It is being reported that there was a fault in the system that removed snow from the wings. However, the investigators have not yet considered the fault in the snow removal system as the main reason for the accident. They said that more investigation is needed to confirm the real reasons, but their report strengthens the hypothesis of aviation experts that the accident probably happened due to the formation of snow on the wings of the aircraft and the failure of the ‘de-icing system’ to remove the snow.

It was estimated that there was snow in the area on the day of the accident

Weather forecasts on the day of the accident had also predicted ice in the area where the plane crashed. Paulo Freas, an investigator at the Brazilian Air Force Center for the Investigation and Prevention of Air Accidents, told reporters in Brasilia that audio recorded in the voice recorder in the plane’s cockpit showed that the pilot had indicated ice had formed on the wings and that the de-icing system was failing to remove the ice. According to Freas, just two minutes before the accident, the co-pilot had said, “Too much ice.” The plane’s data recorder also indicated that the de-icing system, responsible for preventing ice from forming on the wings, was turned on and off several times.
