31-year-old Awadhesh Rai murder case verdict on June 5

Varanasi: The problems of mafia and former MLA Mukhtar Ansari are increasing continuously in Banda Jail. The decision on the punishment of Mukhtar Ansari in the famous 31-year-old Awadhesh Rai murder case will be taken on June 05.

On Monday, during the hearing in the court of Special Judge MP/MLA Court Avnish Gautam, the lawyer of Mukhtar Ansari, the main accused in the famous murder case, filed a 31-page written argument. During this, there were arguments between the prosecution and the defense. In this case, Mukhtar Ansari, lodged in Banda Jail, appeared in the virtual court. Earlier, while filing a 36-page argument, former state minister and Congress leader Ajay Rai’s counsel, the younger brother of deceased Awadhesh Rai, the lawyer in the murder case, had urged the court to convict accused former MLA Mukhtar Ansari.

It may be mentioned that on August 3, 1991, Awadhesh Rai was abducted by bullets near his house in Lahurabir Mahamandal Nagar opposite Chetganj Police Station. In this famous incident, the deceased’s brother Ajay Rai filed a case against five people including Mukhtar Ansari, former MLA Abdul Kalam, now deceased Rakesh Justice.
