25 parties accepted the invitation to inaugurate the new parliament

The country’s new Parliament building is ready and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to inaugurate it on May 28. The opposition forces including the Congress have started protesting the inauguration of PM Modi as a political issue. The opposition demands that the new Parliament be inaugurated by President Draupadi Murmu. However, some opposition parties have come forward in support of the government. 25 parties have accepted the government’s invitation. It also includes 7 parties which are not part of NDA.

Relief from getting support for BJP

25 parties have asked to participate in the inauguration ceremony of Parliament House. After the inauguration date, the opposition raised its voice of protest, now it is a relief for the BJP to get the support of 25 parties. Of the 25 parties that have accepted the Modi government’s invitation, 7 are non-NDA parties. Bahujan Samaj Party, Shiromani Akali Dal, Janata Dal (Secular), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), YSR Congress, Biju Janata Dal and Telugu Desam Party have asked to attend the event. These 7 parties have 50 members in the Lok Sabha.

BJP, Shiv Sena (Shinde Faction), National People’s Party, Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party, Sikkim Krantikari Morcha, Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party, Apna Dal – Sonilal, Republican Party of India, Tamil Manila Congress, AIADMK, AJSU (Jharkhand), Mizo National Front , YSRCP, TDP, BJD, BSP, JDS, Shiromani Akali Dal.

The Modi government is ahead in the numbers game

25 parties will participate in the inauguration ceremony of Parliament. They have 68% i.e. 376 MPs in Lok Sabha. While Rajya Sabha has 55% i.e. 131 MPs. Supporters are in power in 18 states i.e. 60% of the states.
