2 accused arrested for cheating in electricity department junior clerk exam

Surat/Ahmedabad: A case of malpractice has come to light in the recruitment examination conducted by the state government. The Crime Branch has arrested two people in this case and registered an FIR against a total of 11 people. According to the police, in the online examination conducted on different dates from December 9, 2020 to January 6, 2021, the accused tampered with the exam center owners or computer lab in-charges, agents etc.

The state government conducted the online recruitment exam during the year 2020-21 for the recruitment of 2156 junior clerks in the power department. Thousands of candidates were present in it. It is alleged that after taking money from the examinees, they were made to sit in such a way that they could answer the questions correctly. For this, the preliminary investigation has revealed the use of screen splinter software. Instead of answering the questions asked in the exam by themselves, the candidates use the software.

Surat Crime Branch Deputy Commissioner of Police Rupal Solanki said that the accused were kept under surveillance on the basis of suspicion. After this, when he was arrested and interrogated, the matter came to light. As per the information so far, agents were used to reach the candidates. After this the candidates were passed. It is yet to be fully investigated. In this whole matter, the details of how many examinees have committed malpractice and how many examinees have cleared the examination and got government jobs are being obtained.

The police have so far arrested two people, including Indravadan Parmar, a resident of Sabarkantha and Mohammad Uvesh Kapadwala, a resident of Vadodara. Apart from this, the names of Aniket Bhatt, Bhaskar Chaudhary, Nishikant Sinha, Chirayu, Vidyut, Imran etc. are included in the other accused. Apart from this, the institutions with the help of which the accused committed the malpractice include Surat’s Sarathi Academy, Sutex Bank Commerce College, Vadodara’s One Vice Technology, Seven Clouds, Ahmedabad’s Shree Infotech, Rajkot’s Success Infotech. Apart from this, the names of Vadodara Institute of Engineering College, Kotambi Village, Vadodara, KJ IT Engineering College, Savli Taluk, Vadodara are included.
