The cruise drugs case created a stir when Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan’s name surfaced and he was arrested. Now after two years this matter is again under discussion. Samir Wankhede, then Zonal Head of Narcotics Control Bureau, is now under investigation in this whole case. At present, CBI has accused IRS officer Sameer Wankhede of corruption. Interestingly, Shah Rukh Khan’s manager Pooja Dadlani’s old statement has come out as the biggest problem for Sameer Wankhede. Pooja’s statement was part of the Narcotics Control Bureau’s vigilance report on June 16 last year. Based on this, the CBI has registered a corruption case against Sameer Wankhede and four others in the 2021 Cordelia Cruz drugs case. Actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan is also among those arrested in this case.

Pooja Dadlani has accepted the alleged molestation in her recorded statement. It is also said that he allegedly gave a bag of Rs 50 lakh as token money in the case. The special thing is that all this happened just a few hours after the raid on Cordelia Cruise. According to the NCB investigation, when Aryan Khan’s name came up in the case, the initial ransom demand from the officer was Rs 25 crore. But later the deal was settled for 18 crore rupees. 50 lakh rupees were also given as token money for this.

Pooja Dadlani ignored the police summons

Earlier, on October 3, 2021, a crucial link in the case, Pooja Dadlani had ignored at least three summons by the Mumbai Police to record her statement. Then the police investigation against this Sameer Wankhede had to be stopped.

Pooja gave a statement to the vigilance team

“The vigilance team approached Pooja Dadlani in the first half of last year, after which she recorded her statement regarding molestation allegations,” said a report quoting a senior official involved in the investigation. Apart from them we also recorded statements of KP Gosavi, Senvil D’Souza and Prabhakar Sale (witnesses).

Rangdari ki was tried from Shah Rukh

When the officer was asked what Pooja Dadlani said in her statement, she refused to say anything. However, he said that based on all the statements it was concluded that there was an attempt to extort money from Shah Rukh Khan and then the CBI was asked to investigate the matter.

CBI can interrogate Pooja Dadlani

Last week, the CBI registered an FIR against Sameer Wankhede and four others for alleged extortion attempt. The report quoted the same source as saying, “It is likely that the CBI team probing the FIR will re-record Pooja Dadlani’s statement and we expect her to cooperate with them as well.”

Prabhakar Sale also talked about a deal worth 25 crores

Sources said their investigation was based on CCTV footage from various locations by the Mumbai Police besides detailed statements of all the people in the case. Based on that also the timeline of events can be confirmed. Out of which Sakshi Prabhakar Sale died in April 2022. Prabhakar Sale maintained his statement till the end that on the night the cruise was raided, he heard Gosavi on the phone with D’Souza demanding Rs 25 crore from Shah Rukh Khan. And also that the deal is of Rs. 18 crore was fixed.

Prabhakar Sale further claimed in his statement that Gosavi had told D’Souza that out of Rs 18 crore, Rs 8 crore was for Sameer Wankhede. Prabhakar Sale and Gosavi allegedly met D’Souza, Pooja Dadlani and her husband in Lower Parel on the same night, where they were allegedly handed over a bag full of cash.

Samir Wankhede led the cruise raid

Sameer Wankhede, an IRS officer of 2008 batch, was the Zonal Director of NCB Mumbai at that time. He led a team of officers to raid a cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai on the night of 2 October 2021. NCB has claimed to have seized drugs and cash from Cruise. 17 people including Aryan Khan were arrested in this case.

Aryan Khan was released after spending 26 days in jail

Aryan Khan was in jail for 26 days in this case. He was later released on bail by the Bombay High Court. Finally, another NCB team investigating the case removed Aryan Khan’s name from the charge sheet due to lack of evidence. However Aryan Khan’s friend Arbaaz Merchant is still accused in this case. Arbaaz went on a cruise with Aryan.
