Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the International Cooperation and Convention Center ‘Rudraksh’ in Varanasi on Thursday, which will present a glimpse of the cultural richness of the ancient city of Kashi. A representative of Japan will also accompany Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Officials said that 108 steel Rudraksha have been installed in this convention center and its roof is made in the shape of Shivling. This entire building will be lit with LED lights at night. This two-storey center has been built on 2.87 hectares of land in Sigra area and has a seating capacity of 1,200 people.
Officials said the objective of the project is to provide opportunities for social and cultural dialogue to the people at the International Convention Center in Varanasi. It is the perfect venue for holding international conferences, exhibitions, concerts and other events and its corridors are decorated with murals. This hall is decorated in Japanese style. The Prime Minister will also plant Rudraksha saplings here.
The main hall of the ‘Varanasi International Cooperation and Convention Center’ (VCC), aided by the ‘Japan International Cooperation Agency’, can be divided into smaller spaces if needed. Officials said Modi will inaugurate or lay the foundation stone of several development projects worth over Rs 1,500 crore during his visit to Varanasi.
Symbol of Japan-India friendship
Rudraksh Convention Center is a symbol of mutual cooperation between Japan and India. In 2015, when Japan’s PM Shinzo Abe came to his parliamentary constituency Varanasi with PM Modi, only then the foundation of this convention center was laid. Kashi is famous for Lord Shiva. According to the city, it has been made in the shape of Shivling.
Chief Minister took stock of the preparations
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath arrived here on Tuesday, two days before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Varanasi and took stock of the preparations and arrangements and gave necessary directions to the officials. The officials gave this information. Officials said that during his visit to Varanasi, Yogi also performed darshan worship at the local Shri Kashi Vishwanath temple. He said that the Chief Minister reached here on Tuesday to take stock of the preparations in light of the Prime Minister’s visit.
