‘Thalaivi’ rights sold for 55 crores, the film will not be released on OTT platform

The film industry in India has been closed for some time due to the lockdown. The shooting and release dates of the films are being canceled. Preparations are on to show many films on OTT platforms. Meanwhile, actress Kangana Ranaut has denied the release of her film ‘Thalaivi’ on the OTT platform.

According to Kangana, this film has been sold on Amazon and Netflix for 55 crores. Kangana said in an interview with Pinkvilla, ‘It depends. ‘Thalaivi’ cannot be digitally released as it is not a large-scale film nor is ‘Manikarnika’ a digital space film. But yes ‘Panga’ and ‘Judicial Hai Kya’ were also shown to the audience. The way films were made was very digital-friendly. These films also made a good recovery through the digital medium. So therefore it depends’.

It is worth noting that Thalaivi film is a biographical film of former Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalitha which will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.
