Taapsee Pannu turns producer: The Pink actor on Wednesday announced that she is venturing into a “new chapter of life” as she launched her own production house named “Outsiders Films” alongside content creator Pranjal Khandhdiya.
Pannu, who works in both Bollywood and the South Indian film industries, is known for her inspiring roles including the film Thappad, for which she won Best Actress at Indiaâ????s prestigious Filmfare awards. She took to her Instagram handle on Thursday and informed her fans, “with great power comes greater responsibility. So wish me luck and I promise to try my best to bring the best, coz the view is the best from the ‘outside’.â???? Meanwhile, Khandhdiya is known for producing films like Piku, Poster Boys and Soorma, in which Pannu was one of the leads. The duo also worked together on the upcoming Rashmi Rocket.

“Last year when it was almost a decade since I plunged into the dream this Indian Film Industry is, I never knew I will not just float but actually learn to swim my way through. For someone who never dreamt of being a public figure, I am forever grateful to everyone who has bestowed so much love and trust in me and my work,” she captioned the post on Instagram. As Pannu is turning producer, she has assured to continue to back quality content under her banner. “Time for some payback,” she hailed.
She has also shared her take on the newly-launched production venture and its name. Pannu told Variety that she identifies herself as a very proud outsider from the Hindi film industry. She claimed to have come from no background and somehow took years and made some space for herself, explaining how the companyâ????s name came to be.
With another milestone added in her career, Pannu now joined the league of actors who have turned producers in Bollywood. For the uninitiated, Pannu also owns a wedding planning company and a badminton team called 7 Aces Pune. On the work front, she is set for her next Loop Lapeta, DooBaaraa, a south film, Shabaash Mithu, and with many under the pipeline.
