Frequent train stops at station Jhinjhak in the ancestral village of President Ramnath Kovind, Parunkh, have been ending since last month. The railways have terminated the stoppage of 05484 – 05483 Mahananda Express starting from December 10 on Mahananda Express. Earlier, three more trains had been stopped. It is a different matter that after the local people holla and the President’s letter, the railway has restored the stoppage of Rewa (02428) Express.
Business leader Shyam Mohan Dubey has written a letter to Rashtrapati Bhavan expressing anger over the stoppage of Mahananda Express from Jhinjhak station on December 10. There is an allegation on the railways that the stay in the ancestral village of the President is being done on purpose. It has to be restored in public interest. It has been argued that Jhinjhak is a big Galla mandi of Kanpur countryside. Traders have direct connection with Delhi and other cities. Because of this the stoppages should increase and not decrease.
CSA Management Board member and business leader Shyam Mohan Dubey has said in a letter to DRM that the Railway Board is neglecting the country’s first civilian president. Because of this, stoppages of trains are being abolished continuously at station Jhinjhak in his native village Parounkh. Shyam Mohan Dubey has also been a representative of President Ramnath Kovind while a Rajya Sabha member.
