Sitapur: Indian Army Chief Manoj Mukund Narwane reached Sturka village in the district today in his scheduled program on the second day of the two-day visit. Ruda, the ancestral village of Sitapur’s pride and Paramveer Chakra winner Captain Manoj Pandey, who was martyred during the Kargil war in 1999 due to the military movement in his village, is proud of Lal, born in his village today.
There were tears of joy in the eyes of the elder, elderly people after seeing the army officer in the village and the honor given to the Paramveer Chakra winner. So there was a curiosity about the martyr Manoj Pandey on the faces of children born after the year 1999.
The slogan of Bharat Mata echoed as soon as the army chief reached the village in the program organized at the scheduled time. The statue installed by the army on the land of Sturka, the birthplace of Captain Manoj, was inaugurated by the Chief of Army Staff. Earlier, the army chief saluted Captain Pandey and laid a wreath on his statue.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the name of the martyr Captain Manoj Pandey, the Param Vir Chakra winner who sacrificed the Kargil war, will always be immortal. The contribution of the village of Sturcha in the Indian Army seems to be of pride. We are proud of every person in the village of Sturka. Tight security arrangements were made in the village with the arrival of the army chief. A check of Rs one lakh was also given to Aradhana Dixit, Principal of the former Secondary School in the village of Shaheed, to strengthen the education system of the village.

Regarding the unveiling of the elder brother Manoj Pandey’s statue in the hands of the Army Chief, his brothers Madan Pandey and Amit Pandey said that this moment is a matter of pride for the entire district besides his family. He will not forget this moment in his life.
Captain had smeared enemy teeth in Kargil war
Manoj Pandey, who shattered the teeth of Pakistan’s soldiers in the Kargil war of 1999, gave a befitting reply to the Pakistani soldiers by showing his indomitable courage. In this battle, he attained to Veeragati. The statue of Captain Manoj Pandey has been installed by Gorkha Rifles Regiment in his birthplace Ruddha village by making a memorial place.
