Massive fire breaks out at chemical factory in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad: A massive fire broke out in a chemical factory at Pandav Nagar area under Kovi Nagar police limits in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad on Sunday afternoon. However, no casualties have yet been reported from the spot as of now.

According to reports, the incident took place at around 2 PM when only a security guard was present in the factory, who saved his life by running away from the spot.

A cloud of thick black smoke was billowing from a large fire that broke out at the chemical plant, triggering a panic-like situation in the area.

On being informed, 10 fire tenders reached the spot and doused the flames after hours of ordeal. The Chief Fire Officer also reached the spot to take stock of the situation.

The cause behind the mishap is yet to be ascertained. The amount of property damaged in the fire will be estimated only after a detailed investigation, fire department personnel informed.
