The Board of Control for Cricket in India i.e. BCCI has once again won the hearts of the players and their fans by taking a big decision. In fact, on Monday, the BCCI announced an increase in the salary of Indian domestic cricketers. The BCCI has increased the salary of senior domestic cricketers to Rs 60,000 per match. Players who have played 40 or more matches will get 60 thousand rupees for each match. At the same time, the salary of Under-23 and Under-19 players have also been increased. Under-23 players will get 25 thousand rupees per match and under-19 cricketers will be given 20 thousand rupees per match.
This decision was taken in the BCCI meeting on Monday. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah tweeted this good news to the domestic cricketers. Not only this, the players who took part in the 2019-20 domestic season will be given 50 percent additional match fees. The BCCI took this decision due to the cancellation of the 2020-21 season. Let us tell you that due to Corona, the entire domestic season including Ranji Trophy was canceled in 2020-21.
Match fees increased up to Rs 25,000
Let us tell you that Indian domestic players currently get 35 thousand rupees for one Ranji Trophy match, one match of Vijay Hazare Trophy. On the other hand, BCCI pays Rs 17,500 per match for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. But now the BCCI has increased the match percentage to 25 thousand rupees. When Sourav Ganguly took over as the BCCI President, he talked about bringing a contract system in domestic cricket.
The Indian domestic season is starting from 21st September. Senior Women’s ODI League and Women’s ODI Challenger Trophy will also be played this season. The Ranji Trophy, which was canceled last year, will begin on November 16 this year and will be final on February 19, 2022. The Vijay Hazare Trophy will begin from February 23 to March 26. A total of 2127 home matches will be played in this season of BCCI.
