Zhao Ming, president of smartphone maker Honor, has confirmed that the company will launch a smartphone with a seven-inch display and 5-G connectivity this year. The upcoming seven-inch display smartphone could be part of the recently launched Honor X-10 series and make its place in the market as the Honor X-10 Max.
Apart from Honor, several other smartphone makers are set to launch smartphones with seven-inch displays. It is expected that Samsung may soon launch the Galaxy M-41, which is expected to have a 6.67-inch Full HD Plus CSOT flexible OLED panel from TCL.
Recently Ming has also stated that Honor is working to strengthen its relationship with MediaTek and plans to use its 5-G chipset in future smartphones.
The announcement comes after Honor parent company Huawei extended the ban for another year with the US company. The announcement of new regulations by the US Department of Commerce has limited Huawei’s access to chipsets.
