High alert in Sambhal! On one side Friday prayers, on the other side survey report will be presented in court; Police deployed at every corner

Sambhal: Violence broke out during a survey at Jama Masjid in the district on Sunday. After this, the police administration is now fully alert. The police force has been deployed at every corner for Friday prayers today. Earlier on Thursday, the police conducted a flag march in the areas near the mosque. Police said that life in Sambhal city is coming back on track. To create a sense of security among the people, a police team led by Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shrish Chandra conducted a flag march in busy markets. 

Meeting with Muslim religious leaders

The ASP said that the situation in the area is completely peaceful and normal. When asked about the security arrangements for Friday prayers, he said, “Adequate police force has been deployed in the area and we are ready to deal with any kind of situation.” The ASP said that the local police and the district administration have held a meeting with local Muslim religious leaders regarding Friday prayers. 

The survey report can be presented in court.

Along with Friday prayers, the survey report of Jama Masjid is also to be presented in the court today. The lawyers ofthe  Muslim and Hindu sides have completed preparations for this. Hindu side’s lawyer Shri Gopal Sharma said, “The Muslim side has to respond. After that, we will prepare to respond. We will decide our future strategy only after the Muslim side responds.” On the other hand, the  Muslim side’s lawyer Shakeel Ahmed Warsi said, “We are fully prepared. We have all the evidence to prove our side which we will present in the court tomorrow.” 

Alert in five districts

Meanwhile, Moradabad Divisional Commissioner Anjaneya Kumar Singh said that the police force is deployed at all sensitive places in Sambhal. Apart from this, vigilance is being maintained in all five districts of the Moradabad division. On the other hand, Sambhal city Qazi Qari Mohammad Alauddin Ajmali said, “I appeal to the people of Sambhal that everyone should offer Namaaz in the mosques of their respective localities. People coming to the city from nearby villages and from outside should offer Namaaz in the mosques of their respective areas only.” He said, “We want peace to be established in Sambhal soon. We have appealed to the police officers that no arrest should be made against the law.” 

Hearing in Supreme Court today too

The mosque committee has filed a petition in the Supreme Court regarding this matter. In this petition, the lower court’s survey order has been challenged. In the petition, it has been demanded that the lower court’s decision should be taken immediately. The Supreme Court Chief Justice’s bench will hear this matter on Friday. One side in the Supreme Court is the management of Shahi Jama Masjid, while the other side is of Hari Shankar Jain. The Muslim side has demanded an early hearing from Chief Justice Sanjeev Khanna. It has been said in the Supreme Court that this is an extraordinary case, so the court should take extraordinary steps.
