Has Rohit Sharma made a mistake? Can his mistake prove costly?

Rohit 1 1727444678

Rohit Sharma: The first day’s play in the second Test being played between India and Bangladesh is over. However, the apprehensions about the first day proved to be correct. Due to rain, the match started quite late and it rained again after the first session. After this, the first day’s play was declared over soon. Meanwhile, questions have also been raised about captain Rohit Sharma. He won the toss and decided to bowl first, which can become a cause of tension.

Rain in Kanpur, possibility of rain on the second day too

It rained on Thursday night, a day before the match in Kanpur, so the match could not start on time on Friday morning. After waiting for about an hour, when the toss took place, captain Rohit Sharma won the toss. It was expected that India would bat first, but on the contrary, Rohit Sharma surprised everyone. He decided to bowl first without any hesitation. After this, he surprised everyone by saying one more thing. He said that he would enter the field with the same playing eleven with which he entered the Chennai Test. That is, no changes will be made.

Rohit came down with three pacers.

The biggest thing is that the team has come with fast bowlers in the Kanpur ground against Bangladesh. On the first day, it was expected that Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj would take some wickets soon, but they failed. Thanks to Akash Deep who gave some relief to the Indian camp by taking two wickets in quick succession. After this, Ravichandran Ashwin also took a wicket. Overall, till now it seems that whatever Rohit Sharma thought while deciding to bowl first has proved to be wrong. If this team had taken at least five wickets of Bangladesh, then perhaps it could be said that his decision was right. But the Indian bowlers proved unsuccessful in that.

The big challenge in front of the Indian team on the second day

Meanwhile, there is a possibility of rain on the second day as well, but it does not seem that it will rain for long. In such a situation, the biggest challenge for the Indian bowlers and captain Rohit Sharma will be how they get the entire Bangladesh team out. Here it must also be kept in mind that India will now have to bat in the last innings i.e. the fourth innings. Batting in the fourth innings will not be easy on any ground. This is the Kanpur ground, which is considered helpful for spinners. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see how Rohit Sharma proves his decision right on the second day.
