The Board of Control for Cricket in India has decided the groups of teams for the upcoming Ranji Trophy series. Mumbai, who have won the most Ranji Trophy this time, has got a tough group.
It is placed in Group-C called Group of Death. Teams like Karnataka, Delhi, Hyderabad, Maharashtra, and Uttarakhand are included in this group. At the same time, two-time Ranji champion Rajasthan has been given a place in Group B. Last year’s runners-up in this group are teams like Bengal, Vidarbha, Haryana, Kerala, Tripura, etc. Defending winners Saurashtra, Tamil Nadu, Railways, J&K, and Goa have been placed in Group D.
Group A of Ranji Trophy will have teams from Gujarat, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Services, and Assam.
Whereas Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Baroda, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Puducherry have been given a place in Group-E. Whereas teams from Chandigarh, Meghalaya, Bihar, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh have been included in the plate group. Ranji Trophy will start on 13 January 2022.
