ED Raids on Punjab Minister Sanjeev Arora Spark Political Showdown: Kejriwal Alleges Targeting of Hindu Businessmen

Aam Aadmi Party leader and Punjab minister Sanjeev Arora's house was raided by the Enforcement Directorate, regarding which the former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has spoken.
According to the AAP convener, "Hindu businessmen are being targeted again by the ED in Punjab. ED is causing problems to small Hindu businessmen in Punjab." He wrote, "All the businessmen are requested - there is no need to be afraid. The whole of Punjab and the Punjab government are standing with you. Together, we will defeat the ED."
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann also tweeted regarding the statement given by the AAP convener and wrote on social media platform X that "The Hindu businessmen of Punjab are the pride and back bone of the economy of our state and they are significant contributor in making of a "Rangla Punjab". The ED party has now tried to harass our businessmen by misusing its central agency and has threatened them through political pressure in trying to gain control over them, a step which would not be tolerated by Punjabis and would surely meet a firm response. We stand by our businessmen."
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out fresh raids in a money laundering case related to a Rs 100 crore GST fraud in the sale of mobile phones involving Punjab minister Sanjeev Arora and some others on Tuesday.
Raids were also carried out in Noida and Bareilly.
Officials gave this information. Officials stated that the raids were being carried out at six places including residences and offices of individuals and entities in Jalandhar and Ludhiana (Punjab) and Bareilly and Noida (Uttar Pradesh). Officials stated that these locations were linked to Hampton Sky Realty Limited, a company associated with Arora.
Arora (62) was taken into custody last month by the central agency following a day-long search of his official residence in Chandigarh. He is currently in judicial custody. Arora was serving as the Minister for Power, Industry and Commerce in Punjab. Following the arrest of Arora, portfolios held by him were assigned to other ministers by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
