Domestic stock market opened with gains, Sensex rose 330 points, Nifty again crossed 25,000

The domestic stock market started strongly on Thursday. The benchmark Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) opened with a gain of more than 330 points. At around 9:26 am, the Sensex was trading at a level of 81,859.78 with a jump of 336.62 points. The Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was trading at a level of 25,034.15, up 115.7 points. The broader indices opened in the positive range. The Bank Nifty index opened at 51,271, up 261 points or 0.51%.

Tata Steel, Shriram Finance, Hindalco, Bharti Airtel, and Adani Ports & SEZ were the top gainers on the NSE Nifty 50 index, while Asian Paints, Tata Motors, Nestle India, and Bajaj Finserv were among the laggards. The stock market also showed enthusiasm in the pre-opening. The Sensex jumped 348 points, while the Nifty also rose by more than 126 points.

Because of this, the market is booming today.

Indian stock markets are trading higher on the back of positive cues from global markets. The rally has come on the back of expectations of increased foreign investment in domestic equities following US inflation data that has reinforced forecasts of a 25 basis point rate cut by the Federal Reserve.

Today’s trend in Asian markets

Asian markets rose on Thursday morning after overnight gains in the US markets. Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose 2.83% to 36,627, while South Korea’s Kospi rose 1.22% to 2,543.95. Besides, the Asian Dow also saw a gain of 1.15%, trading at 3,502.66. Meanwhile, China’s benchmark index Shanghai Composite rose 0.27% to 2,729.06.

According to provisional data available on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth Rs 1,755 crore. Domestic institutional investors (DIIs) sold shares worth Rs 230.90 crore on September 11, 2024.
