Director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra revealed, Aamir Khan had placed a condition of Rs 8 crore for ‘Rang De Basanti’

Director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has recently launched his autobiography ‘The Stranger in the Mirror’. In this book, he has made many big revelations related to his life and career. Rakesh has also shared an interesting anecdote about Aamir Khan in the book. He has told in the book that Aamir had placed a condition of Rs 8 crore in front of him for the film ‘Rang De Basanti’.

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra in his autobiography credits Aamir Khan for completing ‘Rang De Basanti’ on time. Rakesh wrote, “During the shooting of ‘Rang De Basanti’, Aamir said that if the film is not completed on time, he will double his fees and Aamir had put a condition of 8 crores in front of me.” Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s autobiography is co-written by Rita Ramamurthy Gupta.

It was because of Aamir that the film could be completed on time.
Omprakash Mehra, praising Aamir, further wrote in his book, “Aamir is a visionary person. He also understands creative things while shooting very well. Also during the work, no matter what is wrong or right, he has to do it all. It doesn’t matter to whom the scene is. If it is of any other actor, then he comfortably watches the whole scene by standing in the background. Not only that, he will do anything to perfect the scene. He says that the story of the film is biblical, which we cannot tamper with. Aamir’s understanding of cinema is different and brilliant in the industry. It is because of Aamir that we complete ‘Rang De Basanti’ on time. were able to do it.”

Omprakash Mehra wrote in Autobiography, “Aamir Khan had added a clause to the contract of his film. According to that clause, if the film is not completed on time, he will double his fee. Aamir told me that my fee is Rs 4 crore and if you are not able to complete the film on time, then I will double my fee i.e. you will have to pay me Rs 8 crore. I had never even seen Rs 8 crore at that time.”

Rang De Basanti is still considered one of the most loved films of Bollywood.
