Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has completed the shooting of her much-awaited film ‘Ponniyin Selvan Shooting Complete’. Sharing a poster of the film, Aishwarya revealed that the shooting of the period drama has been completed and it will hit the big screen in the summer of 2022. Ever since the lockdown rules were relaxed across the country, Aishwarya started shooting for the film. The shooting of ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ started on a large scale in Puducherry. After this, the next schedule was shot in Hyderabad.
The shooting of ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ has been completed very fast. Recently, Aishwarya shot for a big song in Maheshwar, Madhya Pradesh. Here Aishwarya Rai Bachchan shot a song with more than 400 junior artists.
A source close to the film had said, “All these junior artists have also taken both the doses of the vaccine and are getting Covid tests done daily. This is a great dance number. Earlier it was reported that Aishwarya will shoot this song in Hyderabad. But it has now been shot in Madhya Pradesh. This song has been choreographed by National Award-winning choreographer Vrinda Gopal. The team shot the song sequences at Maheshwar Ghat, where films like ‘Pad Man’ and ‘Dabangg 3’ have been shot.”
The source further revealed that the film (Ponniyin Selvan Budget) has been shot with a big budget. He said, “The film is being made on a budget of around Rs 500 crore. The story spans several years and has more than 50 main characters. It has been extensively shot in Thailand and there is also a set that has been built on the outskirts of Hyderabad. More than 1500 junior artists are involved in different schedules. 90 percent of the film has been completed. The film will release in two parts, but both the parts are being shot simultaneously.
It is a historical film, which is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s novel ‘Ponniyin Selvan. This novel came in the year 1955. The film stars many prominent celebs from Bollywood and Tollywood, including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram, Prakash Raj, Trisha, Karthi, Jairam Ravi, Shobhita, and Dhulipala.
