In all the districts of Uttar Pradesh, now there will be only e-challan for violation of traffic, civil police and GRP traffic rules. Manual invoices are being completely closed in UP. This rule is coming into effect from June 15. At present, the e-challan facility is not applicable in the entire state due to a lack of sufficient amount of postage expenses for sending e-challan by post to the vehicle owner. So 20 percent of the invoices are happening manually in UP.
Till now only 10 cities of Uttar Pradesh have an e-challan facility. These include Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Gautam Budh Nagar, Varanasi, Agra, Bareilly, Prayagraj, and Kanpur. Now the traffic directorate has decided to extend it to other cities of the state as well. After this, the round of manual challan will be over in the entire state.
What is e-challan?
Explain that if there is an e-challan in violation of traffic rules, the e-challan reaches via SMS on the vehicle owner’s mobile. Also, a copy of the e-challan is also sent by post. Now in all 75 districts of UP, only e-challans will be cut from June 15.
