US shooting: Firing near Capitol Hill in Washington, many killed
Several people were shot dead on Monday night in America’s North-East Washington. The incident took place near Capitol Hill. DC Fire Department spokesman Vito Magiolo said the shooting occurred at around 8:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of F Street Northeast.
Police did not disclose the number
According to a tweet from the Metropolitan Police Department, several people were reported killed, but police did not disclose the number. None of the victims has been identified. No suspicious information has been received so far. Even a police spokesman, Officer Sean Hickman, said several people were found dead.
Many people died in Texas
A similar incident occurred on Saturday in Haltum City, Texas, where two people were killed and four others, including three officers, were injured. On May 24, a mass shooting occurred at Raab Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, in which several people, including 19 children, were killed.
It was the deadliest attack since the 2018 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, in which 17 people were killed, according to CNN.
A young man shot dead in Washington
On June 20, a teen was killed and three others, including a police officer, were injured in a shooting at 14th and U Street Northwest in Washington DC.
Four people shot dead in Oklahoma
On June 1, four people were killed in a shooting at a hospital compound in Tulsa City, Oklahoma, CNN quoted police as saying.
