Liz Truss far ahead of Rishi Sunak in another Conservative Party survey

A new poll of Conservative Party members has claimed that Liz Truss is leading her rival Rishi Sunak in the race for Britain’s prime minister. Significantly, after the resignation of Boris Johnson, the process of electing a new Prime Minister is going on in the Conservative Party.

According to a new survey released Wednesday night, 58 percent of the respondents supported the truss while 26 percent supported the truce. 12 percent are still undecided.

Rishi Sunak suffered a new setback when senior Conservative Party leader Sajid Javid announced his support for the Truss. Former Pakistan-origin health minister Sajid Javed criticized Sunak’s tax policy.

By one estimate, the Conservative Party’s 1,80,000 members will begin receiving ballots this week. Members will have the option of postal or online ballots. Members have to register the ballot paper by the evening of 2nd September. Result will be declared on 5th September
