NDRF team rescues two youths from Delhi drowning across the Ganges
Varanasi, 21 June (H.S.). NDRF team rescued two Delhi youths who drowned while bathing in Ganga at Dashashwamedh Ghat on Tuesday. On being saved, the youth cried hugging the soldiers. The youths now talked about not bathing in the Ganges for life.
Two youths, Bittu and Vikas, who came from the national capital Delhi to Varanasi to visit Baba Vishwanath, were taking a bath in the sand across the Ganges. During this, both of them started drowning in deep water due to lack of understanding. Seeing this, the people around started shouting. Hearing the noise, Inspector Vineet Singh of NDRF, patrolling in the Ganges, along with his team reached the spot immediately by motorboat. Showing readiness, the team took both the youths out of the water. The youth cried on being saved and thanked the NDRF team.
Both the youths told that seeing the crowd on the Ganga Ghats due to the Yoga Day, they took a boat on rent and went across. During the bath, he slipped in deep water after not getting any idea. The NDRF team, while advising both the youth, said that if they do not know how to swim, then in any case one should not go far beyond the banks of the river or reservoir. A little carelessness on our part makes our life heavy.
