Experts gathered to discuss cancer treatment in Ayurveda

Jaipur, 23 September (H.S.). In a series of various programs of Ayurveda Day, a two-day conference on breast cancer was inaugurated on Friday by the Cancer Unit of the National Institute of Ayurveda. More than 300 participants from all over India are taking attendance in this.

In the program Prof. Mita Kotecha (Prof. V.C.), Prof. a. Ramamurthy (Registrar), Dr. Sharad Porte (Cancer Ayurveda Specialist) delivered the speech. Subject expert Dr. Of. Khandal (Senior Ayurveda Specialist), Dr. Vinita Deshmukh (Cancer Ayurveda Specialist), Dr. Jyoti Kode (Senior Scientist, Tata Cancer Hospital Mumbai) delivered lectures on their experience and research work on the causes, diagnosis and Ayurveda medicine of breast cancer.

Books on ‘Preventive and Ayurvedic Adjuvant Treatment of Cancer and Integrative Approach in the Diagnosis and Management of Breast Cancer’ were also released on the occasion. Cancer therapy unit in the hospital of the institute is giving free consultation to the patients of various types of cancer according to the condition of ayurveda and yoga and diet and lifestyle changes. The two-day workshop on cancer will enhance excellence in the services provided in the institute’s hospital, which will benefit the patients suffering from cancer.

Keeping in view its working style, National Institute of Ayurveda has recently been declared as the nodal center for Ayurveda diet by the Ministry of AYUSH.
