The Indian women’s cricket team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, is currently playing the T20 tri-series in South Africa. Apart from India and hosts South Africa, West Indies is the third team to participate in this series. This series is very important for all the three teams for the preparations for the upcoming T20 World Cup. India has played well in this series so far. After defeating South Africa in the first match, Team India has registered a resounding victory over the West Indies as well.

India beat West Indies by 56 runs in their second match with the help of opener Smriti Mandhana and captain Harmanpreet Kaur’s stormy innings. With this victory, Team India has reached the final.

In this match, India won the toss and decided to bat first. Harmanpreet Kaur could not play the first match due to ill health. But he made a strong comeback against the West Indies. The pair of Smriti Mandhana and Yastika Bhatia, who opened the Indian innings, added 33 runs for the first wicket. Yestika, who started slowly, scored only 18 runs in 23 balls, after which Harleen Deol also returned to the pavilion on a modest score of 12 runs.

This batsman remained unbeaten till the end

At one time, when India had lost two wickets for 52 runs in 8.2 overs, then Harmanpreet Kaur, who came to support Mandhana, made an unbroken 115-run partnership for the third wicket to take the team to 167 runs. Meanwhile, Mandhana scored 74 off 51 balls with 10 fours and a six while Harmanpreet Kaur scored 56 off 35 balls at a strike rate of 160 runs. Chasing the target of 168 runs, the West Indies team could only score 111 runs after losing 4 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. During this, Deepti Sharma took the most wickets with two wickets, while other bowlers bowled tightly and did not give much chance to the opposition team to play.
