Union Health Minister interacts with Ayushman beneficiaries of UP
Lucknow, 23 September (H.C.). On the completion of four years of Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya on Friday interacted with Ayushman beneficiaries through online medium. Talking to the Ayushman beneficiaries, the Health Minister wanted to know whether they had any problem in taking advantage of the scheme.
Shafiq of Chandralok Leprosy Ashram, Bettiahata, Gorakhpur, told the Union Health Minister that his 36-year-old brother Naseeb’s oral cancer treatment is being done free of cost under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. His parents are leprosy patients who live in a leprosy ashram. There is no source of income for his family. If it was not for this plan, the treatment of his brother would not have been possible.
Free treatment of chemotherapy and radiation is going on in Gorakhpur’s Poddar Hospital, on which about Rs 1.28 lakh has been spent so far, in which he has not had to pay a single penny. Like Shafiq, the beneficiaries of other states also expressed their views, on which the Union Health Minister appreciated this gift of the Prime Minister and appealed to the people of the weaker sections that whose name is in the list of this scheme, they should get their Ayushman as soon as possible. Get a card made so that they can get the facility of free treatment up to five lakhs annually.
On this occasion, Principal Secretary Health and Family Welfare Partha Sarathi Sen Sharma and CEO of the agency Sangeeta Singh also joined the program along with 20 beneficiaries in the office of State Health Agency Sachij.
Uttar Pradesh Principal Secretary Health and Family Welfare Partha Sarathi Sen Sharma, who was present in the program organized at the Sachij office, said that 2.15 crore Ayushman cards have been made in the state during four years. More than 15 lakh people have got the benefit of free treatment under the scheme. Ayushman fortnight is being celebrated in the state from 15th September to make Ayushman card. Under the fortnight, 5.45 lakh Ayushman cards have been made in the state so far, those who have not got the card made so far, they should get the card made by meeting the regional ASHA worker. On this occasion, Sangeeta Singh, CEO, Sachij interacted with the beneficiaries and honored them.
