Tapan Kumar Deka to IB. has been appointed director of
Senior IPS officer Tapan Kumar Deka was on Friday appointed as the chief of Intelligence Bureau. Deka has been appointed in place of current IB chief Arvind Kumar, whose term ends on June 30.
According to an order issued by the Central Department of Personnel and Training, Deka, working in the Operations Wing of the IB, has been appointed as the Chief of Intelligence Bureau for two years. He is a 1988 Himachal Pradesh cadre IPS officer.
In an order issued by the government department, it has been said that the tenure of Samant Goel, who was the head of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), has been extended for one more year. At the same time, Parameswaran Achar, an officer of the Indian Administrative Service, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of NITI Aayog. He will replace Amitabh Kant. Kant’s term ends on June 30.
