Railway workers practiced yoga on International Yoga Day
Jaipur, 21 June (H.S.). On the eighth International Yoga Day, on behalf of the North Western Railway, Yoga was practiced for the officers and employees at the Officers Club located in Jagatpura.
According to Captain Shashi Kiran, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Western Railway, on the occasion of International Yoga Day, the Yoga practice of Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi was telecast from Mysuru Palace Ground, Karnataka through video conferencing at Officers Club located in Jagatpura. Ashwini Vaishnav, Minister of Railways, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology also connected the Sun Temple, Konark through video conferencing and motivated the railway workers to stay healthy by making them aware of yoga.
On this occasion, a training camp of various activities of yoga was organized by the Yoga Trainers of the Department of Yoga, Rajasthan University in the Officers Club of North Western Railway, Jagatpura, to make the railway workers health conscious. Railway workers participated with immense enthusiasm in the Yoga camp.
Vijay Sharma, General Manager-North Western Railway gave a message to motivate all the railway workers by participating in this health awareness event. The presence of members of the Women Welfare Committee, Personnel Department and the family members of railway employees was also noteworthy in the yoga practice camp, including officers and employees. On the occasion of Yoga Day, Yoga practice camps were organized for the railway personnel in all the divisions. Apart from this, yoga camps were also organized in other units including workshop, running room.
