MLA Rajagopal Reddy will join BJP after leaving Congress

HYDERABAD, August 3 (H.S.). Senior Congress leader in the state and Munugodu MLA Kometreddy Rajagopal Reddy has finally announced to resign from the Congress party and join the BJP. He will also submit his resignation from the membership of the assembly in a day or two.

In a press conference at his residence on Wednesday, Congress leader Rajagopal Reddy said that he is leaving the Congress with a very sad heart. He said that in two to three days, he would submit his resignation from the membership of the assembly by taking time from the speaker. He said that this decision has been taken only for the development of Munugodu constituency. He said that he has a lot of respect for the Congress party, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul, but the party suffered a huge loss due to not taking the right decision at the right time by the high command.

Criticizing the state Congress President Revanth Reddy, he has said that the Congress party has lost every by-election in the state. 12 of the party’s MLAs joined the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TERS) after the assembly elections, yet the party high command made no effort to improve the image of the deteriorating Congress in the state. He said that it is possible only with BJP to end the rule of Teras government in the state. He reminded that he had told this not today, but long ago also. He said that he would announce his joining the BJP only after discussing with the people of the constituency. They want their resignation to open the eyes of the government.

Rejecting the statement of State Congress President Revanth Reddy, he said that he never used politics for personal gain and business. State Congress President Reddy has accused Rajagopal Reddy of being a contractor by profession and has auctioned himself for central government contracts.

Reddy revealed that since 2014, he had received several offers to join Teras but did not leave the Congress. Even after becoming an MLA, there was no development in Manugodu constituency in three and a half years. Rajagopal Reddy said that the way the Modi government is working for the security and future of the country, everyone is seeing that the BJP government is more likely to be formed at the center for the third time.
