The Agniveer Recruitment Scheme has been reviewed with the Chiefs of the three Services and Additional Secretary DMA at his residence.

After the review meeting on Agneepath scheme today, Additional Secretary, Department of Military Affairs (MDA), Lt Gen Anil Puri will address a press conference on the issue of Agniveer Recruitment Scheme at South Block at 2 pm today. Apart from this, a press conference of the three army chiefs has been held separately at 2.10 pm. In these media conferences, there is a possibility of some big announcement regarding the plan.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday held a meeting with the three army chiefs on his return from a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has approved the proposal to reserve 10% of the job vacancies in the Ministry of Defense for Agniveers who fulfill the required eligibility criteria. This 10% reservation will be implemented in Indian Coast Guard, Defense Civilian posts and all 16 Defense Public Sector Undertakings.

The Defense Minister said that the Agneepath scheme will revolutionize the recruitment process for soldiers. He also said that there would be no compromise on the quality of training imparted to the personnel recruited under the scheme. Misconceptions are being created about the Agniveer scheme. Under this scheme, our government has consulted the most. After discussing with the ex-servicemen also, it has been decided to implement this scheme.

Meanwhile, for the recruitment of Agniveers in the Agneepath scheme, the Air Force has released the detailed description on its website today. Agniveers will get 30 days leave in a year and medical leave is separate. In case of death in the line of duty during these four years, Rs 1 crore will be given to the family. According to the same guidelines, Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal VR Choudhary has announced to start the recruitment process of “Agniveers” in the Air Force from June 24.
