An e-population census will be conducted in near future which will be quite accurate: Amit Shah
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said that the Center is working for the development of border areas. Shah, who is on a two-day visit to Assam, reviewed the situation along the Assam-Bangladesh border in Mankachar sector and held a secret meeting with senior Border Security Force (BSF) officials to discuss the operational strategy. According to reports, Shah discussed several issues including infiltration, cattle smuggling, border fencing and river patrol.
The Home Minister said that people are getting displaced due to lack of development in the border areas and therefore Prime Minister Narendra Modi is making continuous efforts for development in these areas. To strengthen the security, state-of-the-art technology will be made available to the BSF personnel deployed in the border areas. Amit Shah, who reached Kamakhya Hilltop, offered prayers at the Kamakhya temple before leaving for Mankachar.
Sale of Khadi started in Central Armed Police Forces canteen
The central government has launched an indigenous campaign to expand across India by selling handmade Khadi products in paramilitary canteens. Launching the sale of Khadi at 107 Central Armed Police Force canteens on Monday, he said that for Gandhiji, Khadi is a symbol of Swadeshi and a means to realize Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of a self-reliant India. Khadi itself guarantees purity.
