Ryan, who lives in Falkirk, Scotland, suddenly lost a lot of weight. Along with this, he was also facing the problem of itching, gradually this itching spread throughout his body. Audrey previously thought that Ryan might be allergic to something she used laundry detergent for. Despite this, Ryan’s skin symptoms did not change, and then his glands (lymph nodes) began to swell as well.

Audrey immediately took Ryan to the doctor after seeing the symptoms. Where doctors examined him and did blood tests and scans. Ryan was then taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for further tests. Doctors told 54-year-old Audrey not to worry as Ryan was being taken to the cancer ward. Just a week later, Ryan was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a rare type of blood cancer. Itching starts in the skin of one in three people suffering from this disease.
