Keeping in view the demand of the time, the company is also bringing electric cars. Its most popular cars are also the Harrier and Safari SUVs. But not every model can be offered with every engine option. For example, you only get diesel engines in the Harrier and the Safari. Do you know what is the reason for this?

Why only diesel engine in Harrier and Safari?

Tata is one such company which has petrol and diesel engines. The company is also ahead in the electric vehicle segment and has a good hold in CNG as well. But why is the company currently not planning to introduce petrol engines on bigger SUVs like Harrier and Safari? After all, what is the company’s plan on this and why are these vehicles coming in diesel only.

The company also believes that customers looking for models like Harrier and Safari will prefer a diesel engine. Tata showcased the Harrier EV at the Auto Expo 2023 and in a few years, the company may bring its variant as well. Tata’s rivals are also firming up their plans, such as Maruti Suzuki, which has a petrol-engine-only strategy and will launch its first EV in India by 2025. Hyundai introduces the Kona EV and the recently launched Ioniq 5. Mahindra XUV400 was launched recently. MG Motor India introduces the ZS EV.
