Impact on housewives’ budget as vegetables remain high despite summer vacation

The hours of departure of summer and arrival of monsoon are counted. However, the prices of daily use vegetables are skyrocketing and the budget of the housewives has been disrupted. The prices of vegetables including sargao, tuvar, peas, cauliflower and guar have reached Rs 100 per quintal, making it difficult for middle class families to survive.

High prices of food grains, sugar, edible oil, milk, garam masala, dry fruits as well as vegetables in Anand-Kheda district have been troubling middle-class families for some time now. In which the prices of vegetables of daily use like onion, potato, garlic, lemon, green coriander, ginger have fallen by Rs 200 per kg and sometimes up to Rs per kg.
