Terrorist attack on oil and gas company in Pakistan, 6 security personnel martyred

6 security personnel have been martyred in the terrorist attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. About a dozen terrorists attacked a Hungarian oil and gas company on Tuesday night. Six security personnel were killed in the ensuing clashes. According to police, around 50 militants attacked the site owned by the Budapest-headquartered MOL group in Hangu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province around midnight. The attackers were armed with light and heavy weapons, a police officer said. They fired mortar shells killing six security personnel posted at the main gate.

According to a police official, four of the dead belonged to the Pakistan Paramilitary Police Auxiliary Force. While two Pakistani private security guards working for two other firms were involved. He told that the firing went on for more than an hour. The police personnel forced the terrorists leading the march to flee.

District Police Officer Noor Wali Khan confirmed the attack and the death toll. He said the attackers came from the nearby North Waziristan district, which borders Afghanistan and has historically been a hotbed of militancy.
