The survival of children after any terrible accident is nothing less than a miracle. One such miracle has happened in Colombia. Four children, including an 11-month-old baby, have been found alive in Colombia’s dense Amazon jungle after a plane crash more than two weeks ago, President Gustavo Petro said on Wednesday. He has termed it as ‘joy for the country’. Sharing the news on Twitter, Petro said the children were found safe after a strenuous search effort by the military.
According to the information received, the authorities have deployed more than 100 jawans along with sniffer dogs to search for the children traveling in the May 1 plane crash. In which three adults died. Rescue workers believe one of the children was an 11-month-old baby. Apart from this, 13, 9 and 4 year old children were involved. After the accident, he was wandering in the forests of South Cakweta.
Earlier on Wednesday, the armed forces said rescue efforts had been stepped up to find the children after they found a wooden shelter in the forest. After this he was convinced that the children were still alive. A photo released by the armed forces shows scissors and hairbands lying among branches on the forest floor. Earlier a child’s water bottle and half-eaten fruit were found.
