6.4 magnitude earthquake hits Mexico and Guatemala, no casualties reported

Earthquakes have been felt in Mexico and Guatemala. The 6.4-magnitude quake hit parts of the Central American nation and southern Mexico, sources said. However, there is no news of any damage due to the earthquake.

 

According to the US Geological Survey, the magnitude of the earthquake was 6.4. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 252 km and was centered 2 km southeast of Canilla Municipality, Guatemala. There was an atmosphere of fear among the people due to the tremors of the earthquake.

No damage was reported from the earthquake

There were no immediate reports of damage from the quake, according to a private Guatemalan agency. Also in the southern Mexican state of Chiapas, civil protection officials said there was no damage to property. Neighboring country El Salvador has tweeted that there is no danger of tsunami from the earthquake.
