Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued a decree for foreign citizens living in Ukraine. Under this, it has been promised to give Russian citizenship to foreign citizens living in Ukraine fighting for Russia. Putin said that he issued a decree to simplify the process of obtaining Russian citizenship.

Putin said Russian citizenship would be granted only to foreign nationals who sign a one-year contract with the Russian military. Also, according to him, families of soldiers serving in the army will be able to apply for citizenship without a residence permit.

 

Putin has signed several decrees to increase the number of his troops in the ongoing offensive against Ukraine. Putin previously signed another removal of the upper age limit for the Russian National Guard.
