Kamirita Sherpa of Nepal sets world record by conquering Everest for the 27th time

Kathmandu : Kamirita Sherpa of Nepal has climbed Mount Everest for the 27th time on Wednesday morning. He has broken his own record by conquering Mount Everest. Sherpa turned 54. He started climbing the Himalayas from 1992.

Earlier, Pasang Dawa Sherpa had climbed Mount Everest for the 26th time on May 14, equaling Kamirita’s record. Exactly three days later, Camirita broke the record.

In Nepal, 1176 people have been allowed to climb mountains this spring. According to the tourism department, 478 climbers have got permission to climb Mount Everest. Nepal has collected $5.8 million in royalties from the climb.
