20-year-old Shraddha Rangad from Faridabad won a gold medal for India in the Senior Women’s Musical Form Hard Style category in Uzbekistan. She won the gold medal with a strong performance. She is known for her dedication and talent towards the sport. Shraddha had to face many challenges since childhood. She grew up in a traditional hill family. With her passion and courage, she achieved many great achievements at the age of 20, including being a G-1 International Taekwondo medalist and a national gold medalist with the School Games Federation of India.

Every athlete dreams of becoming a champion: Shraddha

Shraddha Rangad said that this is something I cannot put into words. It is every athlete’s dream to know what it feels like to be a champion and hear your national anthem on a global stage. The only aim of my life is to make my nation proud, and I am sticking to it.

Hard training is an important part of Shraddha’s life.

Shraddha’s training is rigorous, involving three sessions a day that begin at 4:30 am and end at 9 pm. “My morning session is for three hours and focuses on strength, agility, and stamina. In the afternoon session, I work on learning new skills. Right now I am focusing on techniques like the illusion twist, touch-down raise, cheat gainer, and corkscrew. It would be wrong to focus on only a few skills. I have practiced different techniques for years. I used to struggle with the 720 kick, B-twist, and controlling my breath, but now I feel confident in those areas,” she said.

This year has brought challenges for her, considering the Asian Championship after the World Cup. She said that mental preparation is all about consistency. If you are consistent, you are confident enough to win. My parents wanted me to study hard like other toppers in my family, but I wanted to be a fighter. Then after seeing the result, they now support me.

Thanks to Taekwondo master

Shraddha said that there are so many people to thank, but I am especially grateful to my Taekwondo master, Syed Feroz. He structured my basics and ignited the spark inside me. Thank you to him. When you enter the ring, the mind plays a key role. Shraddha stands as an inspirational figure in Indian sports, who is ready to take over the world stage.
